The ABC's of Becoming a Christian

A - Admit that you are a sinner, that your sin separates you from God, and that there is nothing you can do to save yourself!  Romans 3:23 "For all of us have sinned and all of us have fallen short of the glory of God" Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death (Spiritual and Physical)".

B -
Believe that Jesus Christ is God, that he died on the cross to forgive you of your sins and that He rose from the dead to give you eternal life!   John 14:6 "Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to God the Father except through Me.'"  Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrated His love for us in that while we were still sinners in rebellion against God, Jesus Christ died for us."

C - Commit your life to Jesus as the forgiver of your sins and the leader of your life!
Romans 10:9 "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. "John 1:12 "But as many as receive Jesus Christ, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to all those who believe in His name!"

If you desire to become a child of God by receiving Jesus Christ into your life today, we invite you to pray the following prayer. The words are not nearly as important as are the faith and sincerity in your heart:
"Dear God, thank You for loving me so much that You want me to become Your child. I humbly admit that I am a sinner, that my sin separates me from You and that there is nothing I can do to save myself. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to forgive me of my sins and that He rose from the dead to give me eternal life. I commit my life to Jesus Christ as the forgiver of my sins and the Leader of my life. Thank you for saving me today and for making me a part of your eternal family. In Jesus' name, Amen."

If you prayed this prayer today, please e-mail us or call us here at Shawnee Baptist church so that we can pray for you and send you some free material on how to grow as a child of God.
